“This last session summarises what we should have learnt – the four different model structures covered and what sort of things they can be used for. More importantly, we should now be aware of the process of model building. Interesting map of system dynamics capability devised by Barry Richmond, suggesting that an organisation should develop systems thinking skills over its entirety – leaving the actual modelling skills to a smaller subset of experts. The next step for us ‘incipient modellers’ is to keep building models to stave off the fast atrophying of our skills (!!). Overall, very informative.”
