Information Collection and Use

Cognitus Limited ('Cognitus') is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. We will not sell, share, or rent this information to third parties in ways other than those disclosed in this policy. Personally Identifiable Information is information that can be used to contact you or determine your specific identity. Your Personally Identifiable Information will be held and used by us in accordance with this Privacy Policy and UK data protection legislation.

Registration. To gain entry to certain parts of the website ("Downloads") a user must first complete a registration form to provide Personally Identifiable Information. During registration, a user is required to give their contact information (such as name and email address), and optionally further identification information (company and position, inter alia).

Cookies. A cookie is a small amount of data, which often includes an anonymous unique identifier that is sent to your browser from a web site's computers and stored on your computer's hard drive. Each web site can send its own cookies to your browser if your browser's preferences allow it, but (to protect your privacy) most browsers only permit a web site to access the cookies that the same web site has already sent to you, not the cookies sent to you by other sites. Cognitus may set and access our own cookies on your computer. Cognitus uses cookies to identify you as a repeat visitor or customer of the website, to maintain session information for logged in users, and to track usage trends and patterns in order to better understand and improve areas of our website.

Log Files. We use IP addresses to analyse trends, administer the site, track a user's movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to Personally Identifiable Information. We may also automatically receive and record information in our server logs from your browser, including your IP address, your computer's name, the type and version of your web browser, referrer addresses, and other generally-accepted log information. We may also record page views (hit counts) and other general statistical and tracking information.

Changing or Removing Information. You have control over your Personally Identifiable Information and can change your Registration Information at any time online, by accessing your account page. If you wish to delete your Registration Information you can e-mail us at info@Cognitus.co.uk. Your information will then be deleted assuming Cognitus does not believe it is reasonably necessary to keep such information for any pending legal action; and we are under no other legal obligation to retain such information. If your information is deleted, however, you will have to re-register with Cognitus in order to use the Cognitus service in the future.

Disclosure of Personally Identifiable Information

In general, we will not disclose your Personally Identifiable Information to unaffiliated third parties without your express consent. However, there may be circumstances where we need to disclose Personally Identifiable Information about a user. These are:

  • Employing other companies to perform functions on our behalf, such as fulfilling orders, providing customer service, sending mail, processing credit card payments, or other functions necessary to our business.
  • If we believe that the user is harming or interfering with other Cognitus users, anyone else, or infringing any of Cognitus' legal rights.
  • If we are required to do so by applicable law or pursuant to a court or similar order.
  • In connection with a sale, merger, assignment, joint venture or other transfer or disposition of a portion or all of the assets or stock of Cognitus or its affiliated entities (including, without limitation, in connection with any bankruptcy or similar proceedings).

In addition, Cognitus reserves the right to allow access to its systems to third parties providing necessary technical services when such access is required in order to provide those services and to provide your personally identifiable information to third parties who provide services on behalf of Cognitus, provided that such third parties are bound by our Privacy Policy.

Links. The Cognitus web site contains links to other, external websites. Please be aware that Cognitus is not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by this website.

Changes to this Privacy Policy. Cognitus may change its privacy policy from time to time. If we make any changes regarding disclosure of Personally Identifiable Information to third parties, we will post conspicuous notice of the new policy on our home page.

Questions. If you have any questions regarding our Privacy Policy or our use of your information, please email us at info@cognitus.co.uk.
