Cognitus develops and delivers introductory and advanced training in system dynamics (SD) and Value Cycle Dynamics (VCD), both as public offerings and tailored in-company training.
These programmes are intensive, effective and enjoyable learning experiences that gain high satisfaction ratings from clients.
Programmes can be adapted to meet the specific interests of client organisations.
Teaching methodology
Workshops are highly interactive. Our proven and acclaimed approach includes a mixture of short lectures, syndicate
exercises, case studies, ‘hands-on’ work with computer models and model development under supervision. No previous experience of simulation is required, although familiarity with computers and spreadsheet modelling is an advantage.
Who will benefit?
Managers at all levels, especially those with strategic or operational change management responsibilities, as well as business planners and analysts. We particularly recommend participation by groups of staff from the same organisation.
The VCD Programme
Cognitus' Value Cycle Dynamics Programme is a structured yet flexible programme that can be tailored to the needs of your organisation. Typically, VCDP consists of four modules with intermediate assignments and optional extended learning paths.
Module 1: Introduction to VCD and system dynamics
Module 2: VCD in your industry
Module 3: VCD in your organisation
Module 4: Developing a VCD programme for the whole organisation
Follow-on opportunities:

Developing "Value-Connected" Managers. It is difficult for operational managers to see the big picture when value potential must be measured over many future years, yet growth and personal performance are measured over much shorter periods. The new agenda is to develop "value-connected" managers. Value-connected managers are able to take a high level and interconnected view of the business, and to balance thinking across the organisation and over time.
Managing Growth and Value in Capital Industries. Understanding investment priorities in capital industries and building win-win stategies for stakeholders.
Managing Growth and Value in Pharmaceuticals. Understanding product life-cycle and portfolio strategy dynamics in pharmaceuticals and building win-win stategies for stakeholders.
